CEO Salaries down by 0.9% in the US

Marginally lower at 6.95 million dollars was the average compensation of chief executive officers at 200 large U.S. companies in 2009, according to Hay Group, whose report was cited by the Wall Street Journal.
The average value of salaries, bonuses, long-term benefits and grants of shares and purchase rights for the CEO declined by 0.9%, says the newspaper. This is the third time since 1989 that total direct compensation for American CEO record fall.
