Nokia up by 65%

The expectations of analysts have been surpassed by the increase in profits of Nokia Oyj by65% in the fourth quarter of 2009, as announced today by the administration of the cellular phone market leader. The Quarterly earnings of the biggest mobile phone manufacturer summed up to a total of 948 million Euros from 576 million last year, while turnover rose to 12 billion. Nokia is powering its devices with new features such as free navigation on smartphones, in an effort to meet the growing competition set by the iPhone and Google Inc. At the same time it is marketing devices with features similar to smart phones with touch screen features at lower prices than competition in an attempt to keep its strong position in the mobile phone industry.
